On 25th and 26th September 2025, the EnviroSustain team returned to our rewilding centre in Glashütte for two team days to support with hands on actions:
Equipped with pliers crimpers and spades the team worked hard by not only removing about 50 m of old fencing on Rewilding Oder Delta’s property but also clearing the shooters of Robinia pseudoacacia off the meadows. This helped to give way for new perspectives and ideas for a better natural habitat around our centre and offices.
The following morning, the teams met at the municipal sailing marina in Police, the nearby town in Poland, to clear rubbish from a 6 km stretch of the river using kayaks. Gloves and rubbish bags were provided by the municipality of Police.
The kayaks made it possible to reach areas that were difficult to access, resulting in five large rubbish bags being filled by the end of the day. The campaign not only improved the condition of the river, but also showed how much can be achieved through active cooperation between teams, across national borders and initiatives.
Working together for nature
The visit by the EnviroSustain team showed that environmental protection knows no boundaries between people and initiative. Through their commitment and cooperation with the Rewilding Oder Delta team, they not only succeeded in nature restoring the grounds on our property and cleaning up a section of the river Łarpia, but also in strengthening the bonds as a team that form the basis for joint nature conservation measures.
A huge thank you to the team of EnviroSustain for helping us and restoring our Rewilding Oder Delta’s grounds. We are looking forward to further collaboration regarding the Rewilding Oder Delta centre.
