“Natural treasures between Szczecin and Pasewalk” is the title of a photo contest organized in May 2023 by Rewilding Oder Delta in cooperation with the Nature Park “Am Stettiner Haff” and the Heritage and Castle Association Löcknitz (Heimat- und Burgverein Löcknitz). Participants from Poland and Germany submitted more than 80 entries depicting wild species of local flora and fauna, landscapes and endangered treasures of the region’s natural heritage.
The closing of the competition, the vernissage and the award ceremony took place on June 24 at the castle in Löcknitz. After a runtime of 3 months, the exhibition moved to the Transboundary Center for Environmental Education in Zalesie (TOEE) to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the facility. The entries submitted for the competition will be on display there until the end of February 2024, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Rewilding and the conservation of natural heritage can only be achieved with the support and involvement of the local community. We are very pleased with the great interest in the competition. Thanks to your involvement, we can collectively highlight the beautiful wildlife of the Oder Delta – an undoubted reason for pride on both sides of the border.
