Join our German-Polish team as a Rewilding Officer (m/f/d) with a focus on the German side of the Oder Delta, as part of the project “Hotspot30 – Daring for More Nature in Western Pomerania.”
The Oder Delta is one of Rewilding Europe’s eleven rewilding landscapes. At Rewilding Oder Delta, we work in close cooperation with local communities to give nature more space. We are therefore looking to strengthen our “Wilder Nature” team for the “Hotspot30 – Daring for More Nature in Western Pomerania” initiative.
Your Mission:
You will act as a bridge between nature conservation and society. You will develop and facilitate participatory processes involving local stakeholders—ranging from farmers and the tourism sector to various associations. Together with the team, you will implement concrete rewilding measures, handling everything from initial planning to final execution.
What to expect:
• Tasks ranging from stakeholder analyses and landscape walks to the management of rewilding projects.
• Support for measures such as regulating navigation in the Szczecin Lagoon (Stettiner Haff), peatland transformation, and redesigning educational trails.
• Close collaboration with our “Wilder Nature” and “Nature for People” teams.
What you bring:
• A degree in landscape ecology, environmental science, or a related discipline (MA/M.Sc. or BA with practical experience).
• At least 3 years of experience in nature conservation. • Knowledge of German nature conservation law and water body management.
• A communicative nature and a desire to engage with a wide variety of groups.
• GIS skills and proximity to the Western Pomerania region are an advantage.
